A New Scheme for Demand Side Management in Future Smart Grid Networks
نویسندگان
چکیده
This paper presents a new energy consumption scheduling scheme to enable Demand Side Management (DSM) in future Smart Grid Networks (SGNs). Electrical grid has been facing important challenges regarding quality and quantity to meet the increasing requirements of consumers. Environment friendly and economical generation along with efficient consumption through effective DSM in future SGNs will help in addressing most of these challenges because of integration of advanced information and communication technologies. In this work, we propose an autonomous energy scheduling scheme for household appliances in real-time to achieve minimum consumption cost and reduction in peak load. We assume that every user is equipped with smart meter which has an Energy Consumption Controlling (ECC) unit. Every ECC unit is connected with its neighbours through local area network to share power consumption information. ECC units run a distributed algorithm to minimize the peak load by transferring the shiftable loads from peak hours to off-peak hours. This ultimately minimizes the total energy consumption cost. Simulation results confirm that our proposed algorithm significantly reduces the peak load and energy consumption cost. c © 2014 The Authors. Published by Elsevier B.V. A New Real-Time Pricing Scheme Considering Smart Building Energy Management System
Real-time pricing schemes make the customers to feel the energy price volatility and improve their load profiles. However, these schemes have no significant effect on demand-side uncertainty reduction. In this paper, considering smart grid infrastructures and smart building Energy Management System (EMS), a new real-time pricing scheme is presented to reduce the uncertainty of demand-side. In t...

As there is a rapid growth both in the number of power consumers and also the limitations energy resources, it is clearly accepted that the old version of power grid must change into smart grid from head to toe. One of the most important advantages of smart grid which makes it much more exclusive rather than other typical systems is the two-way connectivity between the utility and the costumers...

Demand-side management is one of the ways to create interaction between the microgrid and increase consumer participation in management schemes. Different algorithms and strategies have been used to execute consumption management programs that often covering a limited number of loads in several specific types. In this paper, first, the load shift method as an optimization problem to reduce syst...

: In this paper, the operation of a future distribution network is discussed under the assumption of a multi-carrier microgrid (MCMG) concept. The new model considers a modern energy management technique in electricity and natural gas networks based on a novel demand side management (DSM) which the energy tariff for responsive loads are correlated to the energy input of the network and changes ...
